12月23日讯《足球》报和西安市体育局此前联合主办了“重走长征路——2024中国足球发展研讨会”。中国足协主席宋凯以个人名义在研讨会进行了《对中国足球发展的几点思考》的专题演讲。
在谈到新疆足球时，宋凯表示：“新疆缺乏优秀的教练，很多的地区需要更多优秀的教练。新疆的喀什和伊犁我都去过，包括艾菲尔丁的学校我也去看了，条件确实艰苦，北上广的教练不是都愿意去，去的话，一年半年可以，但未必带来真正改变和提升。其实咱们一想也明白，就算教练想去，夫人同不同意啊，孩子同不同意啊，都是问题。
那我们是不是可以换个思路呢，例如引进塞尔维亚的教练、克罗地亚的教练，引进国外的教练。那么打开思路，我们去请塞尔维亚的、克罗地亚的等等外籍教练，他来了，是帮助和支持中国足球，西部或者东部他没有概念，都在中国。这些其实都是具体问题，统一思路后，不难想出解决办法。”
